Sonora and Viktor bring their extensive and diverse experiences together to bring us an evening of classical Advent music. \nAbout the Presenter\nSonora Brusubardis holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in both violin and viola performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Sonora has soloed with the UWM Symphony and the Wisconsin Philharmonic. Sonora is an instructor for the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra and maintains an active private studio\, teaching violin\, viola\, and piano. \nViktor Brusubardis obtained a BFA in cello performance from the Peck School of the Arts studying under Professor Stefan Kartman. This concert promises a beautiful yet out-of-the ordinary experience for listeners as Tammy offers special musical selections to help prepare our hearts and homes for the season of Advent. “Harp music to help support\, soothe and celebrate.” \nAbout the Presenter\nTammy Kazmierczak is a freelance harpist in Northeast Wisconsin. She has a background in music performance\, a music business degree and extensive training in harp therapy. A native of Chicago\, Tammy trained under the great orchestral harpists\, beginning study of organ and piano at age three. As a teen she toured abroad with the Chicago Youth Symphony\, spent summers at Interlochen Arts Camp in MI\, and studied harp performance\, production\, and music business\, graduating with a B.A. in Music Business from DePaul University\, Chicago.

Bathed in soft candlelight\, we will listen to words and carols inviting us to enter into the yearning that is Advent\, to awaken and prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus by filling our hearts with the sounds of His hope\, peace\, joy and love. \nAbout the Presenter\nIn 2002\, Karen Gutekunst founded a flute choir in Milwaukee\, Wisconsin. Adding flutists over time to reach their present size of 12 members\, this local group performs at public and private venues throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Originally the “Ladies of Flute”\, the group adopted its current name after Ms. Gutekunst sadly passed away in 2010. Members feel her name\, which means “Good Art” in German\, is a fitting tribute to the talented musician and friend who brought them together. The group loves to make beautiful music in her memory.

A noted public speaker\, Crain delivers over one hundred lectures nationally each year. \nDecember 8: The United States and the Persian Gulf \nAs the United States continued hoping for stability in the troubled region of the Middle East\, the situation was about to go from bad to worse\, as Iraq invaded Kuwait. The American Government saw the invasion of Kuwait as a direct threat to US interests in the region. The US assembled a large coalition of forces from various nations and launched into Operation Desert Storm that forced the Iraqis from Kuwait. With the expansion of terrorist organizations throughout the region including Al-Qaeda\, the US soon saw itself fighting a very different war. The events of September 11\, fundamentally changed US policy in the region.
