Wisconsin U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson spearheaded the first ever Earth Day in 1970, seeking to inspire a national movement focused on the deteriorating state of the environment. The idea came after witnessing the massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California, in 1969, which became a catalyst for environmental consciousness. We’ll learn more about his passion and dedication to the cause and how this grassroots effort became an annual event! We’ll finish our event creating and planting seed bombs for you to take home with you.
Earth Day inspired snacks will complete this experience.
