Milwaukee Catholic Home was incorporated in 1913 by a group of visionary women from the Marquette Women’s League. First known as Milwaukee Catholic Home for the Aged and located on North Astor Street, it addressed the need for a residential community in the city of Milwaukee. Its founder was Anna Marie Hackett and the original building was donated by Anna Cudahy, wife of Milwaukee meat-packing mogul Patrick Cudahy.
Now more than 100 years later, Milwaukee Catholic Home is located on Prospect Avenue in Milwaukee’s upper east side and offers a full senior living continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and rehabilitation services.
Beyond bricks and mortar, Milwaukee Catholic Home has many active partnerships with local schools such as Messmer Catholic and Maryland Avenue Montessori. These collaborative models extend to local universities offering student training and intergenerational experiences for students in clinical, social work, communications, art, music, recreational therapy and nutrition fields.
