Celebrating National Mentoring Month at Trinity Senior Services

As the new year begins, January presents a unique opportunity to celebrate National Mentoring Month, a time dedicated to highlighting the transformative power of mentorship. At Trinity Senior Services, mentorship is woven into the fabric of our organization, empowering team members, residents, and the wider community to grow, connect, and thrive. Across our campuses, mentoring programs play a vital role in fostering personal and professional development. Here are just a few ways mentorship comes to life within our organization:

Student Mentorships

Partnering with local schools and universities, Trinity Senior Services offers internships and clinicals that connect students with seasoned professionals in healthcare, administration, and social work. These mentorships provide students with hands-on experience, career advice, and a clearer path toward their professional goals.

MPS Volunteer Mentorships

At Milwaukee Catholic Home’s Health Care Center, the MPS Volunteer Mentor program provides students with special needs the opportunity to practice real-life skills by volunteering in our health center. This initiative creates meaningful connections while equipping students with valuable experiences.

MMU Registered Dietitian and Farm-to-Table Mentorships

At Trinity Woods, Mount Mary University Registered Dietitians work closely with students and staff, providing mentorship in nutrition, wellness, and professional development. Additionally, our Farm-to-Table program, in collaboration with Clare Gardens and the Trinity Woods culinary team, exemplifies this partnership. Read more here

Sister-to-Sister Program

Also at Trinity Woods, the “Sister-to-Sister” program pairs School Sisters of Notre Dame with Mount Mary College students for mentoring through college years, classes, and life. This intergenerational program fosters deep connections and mutual learning between participants of different generations.

Resident Ambassador Program

At Milwaukee Catholic Home’s The Residence Independent Living, the Resident Ambassador Program is a resident-run initiative supported by our sales and life engagement teams. It pairs experienced residents with newly moved-in residents to ensure they transition seamlessly into the community, fostering a sense of belonging and support.

Friendly Faces at Trinity Woods

At Trinity Woods, the resident-led “Friendly Faces” group empowers residents to be welcoming ambassadors within the community. These individuals lead initiatives like mid-week mixers to help neighbors connect and organize giving opportunities such as providing support to single mothers attending Mount Mary College in Madonna Hall, providing children with Easter baskets and Christmas gifts.

Trinity Senior Services Mentor Program

The newly launched TSS Mentor Program focuses on developing future leaders within Trinity Senior Services. This program provides participants with opportunities to have their voices heard, learn leadership skills and best practices, and mentor team members or newly onboarded staff.
