This presentation explores the remarkable life of Winston Churchill, one of the most influential figures of the 20th Century. From his early years in the British Army to his leadership during World War II, Churchill’s resilience, eloquence, and strategic mind helped shape the course of history.
Churchill and the Wilderness Years: Churchill struggled with being ridiculed and ignored by the Conservative Party throughout the 1920s. He suffered from bouts of depression, what he called “that black dog,” but focused on writing and painting to help get him through the challenging time. Through it all, he continued to believe that he was a man of destiny. In 1933, Adolf Hitler and the Nazis came to power, and Churchill believed firmly that World War II was now inevitable. He issued warning after warning regarding Nazi Germany, but few listened.
