This presentation explores the remarkable life of Winston Churchill, one of the most influential figures of the 20th Century. From his early years in the British Army to his leadership during World War II, Churchill’s resilience, eloquence, and strategic mind helped shape the course of history.
Churchill the Politician: Churchill joined the Conservative Party in 1901 but was distrusted by Conservatives because of his progressive politics. He soon realized that he had more in common with the Liberal Party and joined the Liberals in 1904. In World War I, Churchill was appointed Lord of the Admiralty and served on the Imperial War Cabinet. He was blamed for the military debacle at the Battle of Gallipoli and was forced to resign from the British Government in disgrace. He was convinced that his political career was over.
