Trinity Woods // Degenerate Art

After Hitler became Chancellor in 1933, modern art and its creators were labeled “degenerate” and targeted for removal. This presentation examines the looting, sale, and destruction of modern art in Nazi Germany and reflects on parallels to today’s “cancel culture” and its impact on the visual arts. Art History Series with Rhonda Pelk Rhonda Pelk brings a lifelong passion for art, culture, and community engagement to this lecture series. With years of experience as a docent at the Milwaukee Art Museum, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Burnham Block, she has guided thousands through exhibitions, architecture, and art history with warmth and insight.
