WALKING FOR MEMORIES

AT MILWAUKEE CATHOLIC HOME AND OUR LADY OF THE ANGELS

As cities around the United States Walk to End Alzheimer’s, two of our communities joined in and did their own versions! We are empowered to participate in these walks and the mission behind them hits close to home as we serve those affected by Alzheimer’s especially at two of our locations, Milwaukee Catholic Home (MCH) and Our Lady of the Angels (OLA).

Everyday Amazing Program

At the heart of these special walks was our Everyday Amazing program—an initiative designed to enrich lives through daily, purposeful engagement. From building relationships to creating lifelong memories, this program embodies the core values of Trinity Senior Services. The Everyday Amazing program is an innovative, research-driven approach to memory care, promoting whole-person wellness. It focuses on cognitive health, physical fitness, nutrition, social engagement, and spiritual well-being. The program offers therapeutic interventions like art, music, and recreation therapy, while fostering intergenerational connections through partnerships with local schools and volunteers. With multiple programs set up to not only help the residents who live here but the staff members who serve them. Staff members are specially trained in dementia care, ensuring personalized, compassionate support for residents at all stages of their journey.

Milwaukee Catholic Home’s Heartwarming Kids’ Walk for Memories

At Milwaukee Catholic Home, we believe that life is best lived when generations come together in love, support, and mutual understanding. This belief was brought to life in a truly heartwarming way during our recent Kids’ Walk for Memories. Residents of Milwaukee Catholic Home joined hands with children from a local daycare, as they took steps not only for their own well-being but for a greater cause: helping to end Alzheimer’s.

This wasn’t your typical walk. It was a moving expression of community, care, and the power of intergenerational connection. As our residents strolled alongside the enthusiastic little ones, there was laughter, conversation, and a deep sense of shared purpose. Every step was a reminder that no matter our age, we can all contribute to the fight against Alzheimer’s, a disease that touches so many lives.

As the residents and children walked together, it was clear that the connections being made were just as important as the cause itself. The enthusiasm of the children, paired with the wisdom and grace of our residents, created an inspiring energy that will continue to fuel our efforts in the fight against Alzheimer’s. We extend a heartfelt thank you to the children, their caregivers, and everyone who participated in this meaningful event. Your support makes a difference, and together, we’re walking toward a future free from Alzheimer’s.

he Kids’ Walk for Memories perfectly reflects the mission of Trinity Senior Service’s Milwaukee Catholic Home and Our Lady of the Angels. Our care goes beyond the physical; it’s about enriching the lives of our residents every day. This event, like many others organized as part of our Everyday Amazing program, is designed to enhance quality of life and foster a sense of belonging, purpose, and connection for everyone involved. Through meaningful activities, we strive to create experiences that engage the mind, body, and spirit.

Despite the Weather, Our Lady of the Angels Convent Shines in Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s

At our Greenfield location, Our Lady of the Angels Convent (OLA), managed by Trinity Senior Services but co-sponsored by the School Sisters of St. Francis and the School Sisters of Notre Dame, is committed to serve our community members living with memory loss by providing quality, specialized, person-centered care in a compassionate and enriching environment.

The sisters we care for at OLA inspired us to create a walk where friends, family, and community members could come together and participate to fight for a cure for this disease. The weather wasn’t on our side, but we ensured that it didn’t stop us! Team members came together to decorate the building and mapped out a walk where the sisters companioned with family or friends could walk through. We decorated all our walking participants in purple and celebrated with a medal and a large cheer line at the end! The celebration continued after the walk with special purple cupcakes, coffee, tea and piano performances from student volunteers.

Though the weather may have dampened the skies, it couldn’t dampen our spirits as we came together in love and solidarity to honor those affected by memory loss and continue the fight for a cure.
